Arranging the Funeral Service

 

Our service to you starts when you contact us, whether by telephone or in person, and often extends way beyond the day of the funeral service


The funeral profession, although traditional, has been updated in recent years as people's personal wishes and choices are respected. The modern funeral ceremony allows the family and friends to customise the service with their music of choice, and also allows personal readings, poems, etc.

On initial contact we will ask for preliminary details. Depending on whether the deceased has died at home or in a private nursing home, we will advise of the procedures to be followed. The funeral arrangements can be made at our office or in the comfort of your own home.

Costs and Charges

During the funeral arrangements, our staff will point out to you the procedures and legal requirements. Whilst arranging the funeral service, we will advise on all costs and charges to be incurred, culminating in a full written estimate that will be provided at the earliest opportunity. This will enable you to feel confident with the funeral commitment you have entered into.

Disbursements

Disbursements are fees that we pay out on behalf of the family, i.e. crematorium or cemetery fees and parochial fees, etc. Our written estimate will give details of the approximate cost of the disbursements, which are required to be settled seven days prior to the funeral being held.

 

 

Cremated Remains

At the time of making the funeral arrangements, it is not always easy to understand the emotional benefit that can be derived after the funeral by having somewhere to go to remember the deceased.  It has only recently been acknowledged that simply having a relatives Cremated Remains scattered or buried in a garden of remembrance does not assist the healing process after the funeral. Today most cemeteries and crematoria offer the facilities of small graves that can be purchased solely for Cremated Remains.

Bringing the Deceased into our Care

We do not believe in the use of a Van to transfer your loved one into our care.  We will ensure that they are brought to our private chapel of rest, where they will remain until the day of the funeral service.  We only require a short period of time to complete all the preparations for you to visit our chapel.
